Living Your Larger Story: Personal Mythology and The Journey from Ego to Soul
Saturday, April 2, 2005
10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
(Registration from 9:30 to 10:00 AM)
2515 Milvia Street , Berkeley , California
Join us for this exceptional one-day workshop and discover a powerful and dynamic new approach to personal growth and evolution as we explore the mythic dimension of the stories of our lives. Among the questions and topics we will explore during the course of this workshop are:
- What is a “personal mythology” and how can understanding the mythic qualities of our stories help us to live more conscious, authentic, and soulful lives?
- What is the difference between unconsciously living our personal mythologies from a place of ego-consciousness versus consciously engaging the deeper, richer mythology of the soul?
- How can we evolve and transform the old myths that we unconsciously inherited as children from our families and our culture into soul-oriented ones?
- Why is doing personal myth-work particularly meaningful at those times when are struggling though a painful life passage, such as the entry into midlife or elderhood?
- What role do archetypes – the powerful and eternal cast of inner characters such as the Mother and the Father, the Orphan and the Innocent, the Dragon, the Warrior, the Wizard, and the Fool – play in the shaping of our personal mythologies?
- How can understanding the evolving nature of our personal mythologies help guide us toward a sense of our unique life purpose?
- How can working with our personal mythologies help us to discover a more powerful and personal relationship to the sacred dimension of existence?
This workshop will include a variety of activities intended to stimulate our thoughts and feelings about the mythic dimension of our life stories, as well as time for both personal reflection and sharing. Workshop cost, which includes lunch, is $95 (or $85 if posted by 3/26).
